Our story
How We Got Started
DatingSinglesGuide launched in the spring of 2020 - a moment when lockdowns revealed just how isolating rural life could become without the feed-store run, the county fair, and the Sunday potluck. Our founders, two siblings raised on a Missouri cattle operation and a software engineer who'd married into a fourth-generation Iowa farm family, kept hearing the same refrain from friends and cousins: "The apps are full of city folks. They just don't get it."
What started as a weekend side project - a plain comparison spreadsheet of which dating sites actually served country singles - turned into an invite-only community, then a public platform, then a place where couples started sending us wedding photos. By the end of our first year we'd reviewed 40+ dating services and helped 12,000 rural singles find their way to partners who understood calving season.
